The Engineering R&D for Technology Program is a graduate scholarship
program supported by the Department of Science and Technology -
Science Education Institute (DOST-SEI). It is aimed at contributing to
the creation of a critical mass of research scientists and engineers
who possess master's and doctoral degrees. The development of human
capital is an important component towards achieving the Philippines'
sustainable, inclusive development and industrialization goals.
ERDT scholars may pursue master's and doctoral studies in
engineering and allied fields at any of the eight delivering
member-universities of the ERDT consortium:
Ateneo de Manila University (ADMU), Central Luzon State
University (CLSU), De La Salle University (DLSU), Mapua University
(MU), Mindanao State University-Iligan Institute of Technology
(MSU-IIT), University of the Philippines Diliman (UPD), University
of the Philippines Los Baños (UPLB), and University of San Carlos
(USC).

The scholarship award shall be for full-time graduate studies to ensure on-time completion of an MS/PhD degree.
The scholar must NOT be employed or practicing profession while on scholarship.
The scholar shall execute a Scholarship Agreement.
The academic performance of the scholar shall be evaluated every school term based on established policies to determine his/her scholarship status.
The scholar must not have other scholarships.
The scholar shall be required to render service obligation in the Philippines on full-time basis after completion of the MS/PhD degree, i.e. one year of service for every year of scholarship.
The scholar shall be required to refund the scholarship grant with interest for non-completion of graduate program or failure to comply with the service obligation.

The ERDT Sandwich Program is designed to enable ERDT Local Graduate
Scholars to conduct research abroad in areas that have yet to be
developed in the consortium member university or in fields of
studies where research facilities are not available or inadequate in
the country. This will also help the scholar ensure completion of
his/her research on time.
Duration: The ERDT Sandwich Program is for a
minimum period of three (3) months and a maximum period of twelve
(12) months.
Entitlements: The financial
assistance shall be for a maximum of
One Million Two Hundred Thousand Pesos (P1,200,000.00)
depending on the place and duration of study. Privileges include
roundtrip economy airfare, stipend/living allowance, book
allowance*, accommodation, medical insurance*, tuition fee and other
school fees, clothing allowance* subject to evaluation and approval.

The Career Incentive Program (CIP) is a short-term scheme to address
the administration’s call to strengthen the country’s S&T capability
and avert unemployment of graduates of DOST-SEI graduate
scholarships and provide them the opportunity to work in research
activities where they can contribute their knowledge and expertise.
This is open to MS and Ph.D. graduates of the ERDT.
Interested scholar-graduates may apply to the CIP and they shall be
matched with a DOST agency/research institution where their
specialization is needed in research projects/activities.
A scholar-graduate shall assume the position of Graduate
Fellow with the corresponding compensation to be provided by the
Science Education Institute.
